1) Basic process flow diagram of natural gas hydrogen production

2) Process Principle
The skid-mounted natural gas hydrogen production equipment mainly includes five main process steps: natural gas pressurization, natural gas fine desulfurization, natural gas steam reforming, CO conversion, and hydrogen separation and purification.
1) Raw material desulfurization
The raw natural gas is heated to 320-380℃ in the convection section of the reformer and then passes through manganese oxide and zinc oxide desulfurizers to remove organic sulfur and H2S in the raw gas to below 0.1ppm to meet the sulfur requirements of the steam reforming catalyst. The main reactions are as follows:
H2S +ZnO→ ZnS + H2O
2) Natural gas steam reforming: After the natural gas sulfur is removed to below 0.1 PPm, it is mixed with process steam at a ratio of 3.2 to 3.5, and enters the mixed gas preheating coil to be further preheated to 550 to 600 °C before entering the reforming tube. In the catalyst bed, methane reacts with water vapor to generate H2 and CO, and CO continues to react with water vapor to generate CO2. The heat required for methane reforming is provided by the combustion of fuel mixed gas. In the presence of nickel catalyst, its main reactions are as follows:
CH4 +H2O (steam) = CO +3H2 -49200Kcal/Kmol (conversion reaction)
CO+H2O (steam) = CO2 +H2+9840Kcal/Kmol (conversion reaction)
Cracking reaction of higher alkanes (400~600℃)
CnH2n + 2nH2O (steam) =(2n+1) H2 + nCO
